Deep Cut Trading Company

Picture this, you’re on your couch, flipping through channels looking for a significantly cut for tv movie that you’ve seen a hundred times that features a healthy dose of commercials… cause heck no you’re not paying for HBO. What are you stopping on every single time no matter where it’s at in the movie? The Deep Cut team has an astronomical amount of favorites for this list but why don’t we just start with these three.

Jurassic Park

They do move in herds… we dare you to skip past the OG of dinosaur goodness. It’s all over the second the leaf springing sauropod stomps on screen. Think about it… the iconic flare ridden T-Rex vs. goat paddock night scene, the tense toe tapping reflective raptor duo in the kitchen, and let’s not forget the real bare chested star of the show Jeff Goldblum. Jurassic Park is loaded with some of the most quotable one liners that have no doubt been stuck in your head since the 90’s. All that makes this movie the deep cut trading co teams’ numero uno of must stop on movies.

Jaws

“Dun Dun” that’s right, we’re gonna need a bigger remote. Two strokes of a bow is all it takes to get you ready to get out of the deep end while channel surfing. Jaws is a classic that has stood the test of time since the 70’s when it was released and oddly has the best looking animatronic shark compared to the Jaws movies that followed. From the unique way the movie was shot to the fishing trip gone wrong tension there are plenty of reasons why we always keep a couple Narraganset Lagers cold just in case we need to crush it like Quint when Jaws is on.

Terminator 2

The Schwarzinator’s second go at Terminator is arguably the best movie across the entire franchise. Don’t get us wrong, the heavily 80’s leaning feel of the original was classic but something about this one really gets our liquid metal going. Schwarzenegger was in his prime action hero phase and it was still only science fiction that AI would take over and enslave the human race - that being said, we feel like not enough AI developers have seen this movie. Action, guns, more action, explosions, and a rare human element coming from a machine is a recipe for a movie we can’t pass up.
